Tiramisu Salon has performed literally thousands of keratin treatments over the years. Most salons still use the bowl and brush technique, which is like being on highway 400 with a horse and buggy.  Typically, the client’s hair is shampooed, the standard amount of keratin is poured into a bowl, and the keratin is smeared it onto the client’s hair. However, this method is the most inconsistent and dated way to apply keratin. Here’s why:

Our method starts off with three clarifying shampoos, which open up the cuticle and ensure proper saturation of the hair. The hair has to be evenly saturated in order for the keratin to penetrate into the cortex of the hair. The keratin by itself is not water soluble. It uses the water as a vehicle to get deep inside the cortex. We add the vehicle (H2O) to the standard amount of keratin used on an average head of hair. We are then able to evenly spray the keratin onto the hair, working it in carefully to allow thorough absorption. Our process guarantees even penetration and distribution of keratin on the hair with each application. Also, in turn, each stylist will give you the most consistent results with every treatment.

Our system eliminates the inconsistencies created when using the bowl and brush. This is because you’re not depending on an individual stylist to be aware of how each quarter inch section of hair may become too dry to carry all the keratin into it. Hair will always dry quicker on the ends because the ends have a tendency to be more porous than the roots. The bowl and brush technique tends to concentrate a lot of the product on the roots.  Think of it in terms of using a paint brush. The greatest concentration of product will be at the first point of contact, which will more than likely be at the roots. So, by the time you get to the ends, there’s either little product left on the brush or the hair has begun to dry.  When this happens, you get more keratin penetrating the roots, where you need it the least and less on the ends where it’s needed most, thus creating inconsistent results.

Keratins are a clever little family of proteins, amongst the most important and versatile proteins that nature has produced. Keratin gives us protection such as: hair, nails, and skin. They are subtle bio-active mediators carrying important peptides that tell injured skin cells to heal and grow. Keratin can be found in both plants and animals. Our keratin treatment is derived from sheep wool from New Zealand. Sheep keratin is almost identical to the keratin found in human hair. Therefore, animal sources are used because keratin cannot be isolated from plant sources, as it is not produced by plants.  By harnessing the beauty benefits of Juvexin through an environmentally-friendly process, Juvexin is delivered to the hair in its purest state.  The keratin treatment is really amazing because it works two ways:

  1. It coats the outside of the hair shaft in a shield which protects the hair from damaging pollutants.
  2. It penetrates the hair fibers and starts working to heal hair from the inside out.

The combined action makes it so effective – it’s basically a liquid form of hair!

Reason #3: JUVEXIN

Perhaps the most revolutionary development in hair care in the past 50 years, Juvexin is a special blend of proteins and peptides optimized specifically for hair. Juvexin is delivered to the hair in its natural state. This keratin protein works by strengthening the inner core (cortex) and sealing the outer layer (cuticle) of the hair. This creates amazing shine and softness because it reduces cuticle friction enabling hair to better withstand heat, thus making it less prone to breakage. It improves the lubricity of hair, giving it better manageability on both wet and dry hair. You will experience less entanglement during brushing, combing and styling as well as reducing your styling time by at least 50 percent.
